TOURNAMENT UPDATE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday July 17th, 2009 (Noon) -- In the event of any extended game that is still tied after ten (10) innings, then we shall use the following "speed up rule:"

• Last batted out will be at 3rd base
• One (1) out
• One (1) strike on the batter

Thursday July 16th, 2009 (2:30 p.m.) -- 16U Division Only -- Due to a conflict with East Central Trojans, we had to modify some games.   The modification does NOT impact any other team's start times, with the exception of East Central Trojans.   15U/16U Teams should review the schedule and make for sure they are aware of any changes.

Wednesday July 15th, 2009 (4:00 p.m.) -- We now have our final revisions for this weekend's Wooden Bat Tournament - ALL COACHES should refresh their web browsers to make for sure they have the current page (says last update -- 7/15/09 at 4:00 p.m.) to confirm their schedules for this weekend.   In addition, our Indiana Heat staff will be placing phone calls to all Head Coaches confirming that they are aware of the latest modifications to the schedule. 

• Note -- Final numbers:   15U/16U -- 6 teams are competing and in the 17U/18U -- 9 teams are competing.   ALL GAMES ARE AT SHELBYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.

TOURNAMENT RULES -- Coaches and Parents -- Please review our Tournament Rules.

• Parents and Coaches -- Please review our Rules in order to avoid any unnecessary issues. 
• Some key points of our rules:
  • Note -- We do not charge a gate in the 15U - 18U Divisions
  • Our playing areas and fan areas are "no smoking" areas
  • We have a "zero tolerance" for violence and/or violations of our Rules
  • Where a field has concessions -- there is no outside food or drinks permitted -- there is water in the dugouts.  If a field does not have concessions (only field -- Bloomington South), you may bring in outside food and drink
  • Absolutely no alcohol is permitted at any time on site
  • Teams must furnish two (2) new baseballs prior to the start of each game.  Balls should be good quality and, at the minimum, a high school quality and acceptable baseball.  Teams must get foul balls. 
  • The winning team is responsible to take the official Score Sheet to Tournament Central or the On-Site Coordinator for the game to be "official"

• NOTE -- ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE INSURANCE -- Please turn in a "copy" of your team's insurance verification.   The Heat keeps the copy for our records. NO GAMES WILL BEGIN WITHOUT PROOF OF INSURANCE -- GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME

REQUIRED TOURNAMENT FORMS -- Coaches -- Please be sure to complete all Tournament Forms and present at "check-in" (which is 1 hour before the start of your first game on Friday).
