2010 -- 7TH ANNUAL WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT SUMMARY

NOTE -- Due to the rain/lightning delayed games, games #9 and #12 have been moved to Sunday morning.  These are rain delayed games and will be operating under the "drop dead" 1 hours 45 minutes rule.   This means -- at the end of 1 hour 45 minutes, the game is STOPPED.   The team that was leading at the LAST COMPLETED INNING is the winner.   The "drop dead" rule will take place for game #9 (at 9:00 a.m.) and game #12 (at 11:00 a.m.).   At 1:00 p.m., the games return to the normal time limit pursuant to the rules.

IMPORTANT -- We will be circulating weather and important tournament information via ( http://www.rainedout.com ) this weekend.   All Coaches are strongly recommended to sign up for this service (which is free to sign up).   We do NOT call teams about weather or tournament updates -- rather, we text (and/or e-mail) via this service.  In addition, we will have real time updates with scores, seedings and other important information.

     Wednesday July 14th, 2010 -- 17U/18U DIVISION --  In order to balance out the 17U/18U Division to "8" versus "7" teams, we have added the ECI from the Muncie, Indiana area.   As such, a slightly revised schedule appears for the 17U/18U Division.

     Tuesday July 13th, 2010 -- Please check the Tournament Schedule for score updates in real time.  Teams should get signed up for text message alerts for scores and seeding.  http://www.rainedout.com

     Please go to http://www.rainedout.com and search for Indiana Heat to get registered (it is free to register) to receive text and/or e-mail messages during the tournament about weather, important updates, game scores, etc.   This is a free service and an incredibily useful service for teams in our tournament.   Anyone can register and it does not need to be just coaches -- players, parents, fans, etc. can register to receive these text and/or e-mail messages.

TOURNAMENT RULES -- Coaches and Parents -- Please review our Tournament Rules.

• Parents and Coaches -- Please review our Rules in order to avoid any unnecessary issues. 
• Some key points of our rules:
  • There is NOT daily "gate" fee for this event, however, there is a team gate fee due in advance.
    • Wood Bat -- $ 125
      • Note -- Gate fees are to be paid no later than three (3) days before the start of the event -- Thank you!
  • Our playing areas and fan areas are "no smoking" areas
  • We have a "zero tolerance" for violence and/or violations of our Rules
  • Shelbyville High School and Twin Lakes has concessions -- there is no outside food or drinks permitted -
  • Absolutely no alcohol is permitted at any time on site
  • Teams must furnish two (2) new baseballs prior to the start of each game.  Balls should be good quality and, at the minimum, a high school quality and acceptable baseball.  Teams must get foul balls. 
  • The winning team is responsible to take the official Score Sheet to Tournament Central or the On-Site Coordinator for the game to be "official"

REQUIRED TOURNAMENT FORMS -- Coaches -- Please be sure to complete all Tournament Forms and present at "check-in" (which is 1 hour before the start of your first game on Friday).
