History of the Indiana Heat

"Athletes on a mission and with a purpose, who are dedicated, committed and determined to succeed as a young citizen and athlete"
The Indiana Heat was founded in 1996. The founder, Carl Lamb, is the Director and President of Indiana Heat Sports, LLC. In the late 90's, the Indiana Heat organization was incorporated and made into a "limited liability company" (LLC) under the laws of the State of Indiana. Carl Lamb is the resident agent and attorney for the organization.

Prior to the Indiana Heat, the Heat was known as the Bloomington All Sports for one (1) year. That season, there were two (2) teams -- the 10U, Bloomington Heat and a 11U, Bloomington All Sports. After that season, it was determined that a statewide recruitment was the best way to develop top talent in order to compete with other top baseball teams at the national level. That season (the last for the Bloomington All Sports), they competed in a national fall event in Kansas City, Missouri -- finishing 1st in the 10U division.

During the 1st year of the Indiana Heat, the 12U team went to Cooperstown, New York for a week long national event and the following month finished the season by participating in the AAU 12U National Championships in Minneapolis, MN. After that first year, which the Heat only had one team -- a 12U team -- they grew to two (2) teams the following year -- a 12U and 13U teams. Since year 2 (1998), the Heat teams continue to grow and the program has developed competitive teams in the areas of basketball and now girls fast-pitch softball.

Starting in 2003, the Heat organization will have over five (5) baseball teams, six (6) basketball teams and two (2) girls fast-pitch softball teams. The organization is very happy to add girls fast-pitch softball to the program in 2003 and looks forward to a very successful 1st year team.

The Heat staff is very committed to the mission statement of "athletes on a mission and with a purpose." Additionally, that our athletes are not only on a mission, but they are dedicated, committed and determined to succeed as young citizens and athletes. We are very proud of our tradition and the excellent reputation that Heat teams receive, not only around the State of Indiana, but around the United States.

The Heat administration and staff work very hard to assist our athletes in identifying their future college goals and needs. Once each athlete has developed and determined their college goals, the Heat administration and staff work to assist in any way possible to see that our athletes are successful in their goals.

If you have any questions or comments about the Indiana Heat organization, our teams, coaches or players, please do not hesitate to contact the Heat at (812) 334-0862, or e-mail us at clamb@indianaheat.com -- Thanks.
